New job questions

    Hi,

I may be offered a job in the coming few weeks. At the moment I'm on casual workers after being on job seeker's allowance. The job I'm looking at is a minimum of 20 hours but could be more. Is it possible to stay on my current casual workers and get some form of payment if I'm only doing 20 hours a week?

At the rate of pay I'd be on I'd be coming out with less working 20 hours a week than on the dole so surely I can make up the difference or something?

I would rather work 20 hours a week than nothing as I am fed up at the moment, but don't think it'd be worth it if I was getting less.

Alright, if I remember what I was told: you need proof of your hours worked. You can work up to 19 hours a week, over 3 days from Monday - Saturday (you can work all day Sunday, it's not counted). Basically, you get 1/6 (one sixth) of your dole taken for each day from Monday - Friday worked. Under 19 hours (it might be 20) do not matter.

Well I just found out the new job is actually 25 hours minimum a week. Does it not go by days worked and not hours?

Say I worked 25 hours over 3 days would I be entitled to the other 3 days?
