Girona Spain to Langedoc Sth France

    Hi - hoping someone might know the answer to this one. I am driving from Girona airport to the South of France for a 10 day holiday. I am hoping to do a weekly supermarket shop in Spain before I enter France, it will be cheaper than shopping in France. The question is does anybody know of a supermarket en route? It will also be evening time -approx 7pm. Just thought Id throw it out there on the off-chance someone has driven this journey. Many thanks.

    Ive driven south of France to Barcelona and Im sure there are supermarkets. However what I would warn you about is petrol stations, there can be very long distances between them in Spain.

    I would also be careful shopping or do it just at the border because if you are driving in the summer your food will go off very quickly.

    Assuming that you are hiring a car from Girona airport, make sure that you have the insurance required to cover you to take the car across the border into France.
    From Girona airport, you will be heading north towards Girona, a small city with the usual selection of supermarkets. The next sizeable town en route, is Figueres. Check the respective websites of the supermarket chains to find exact locations and opening times - carrefour.es; caprabo.es; lidl.es; eroski.es:)
