I was going to post this in the TY forum, but it's dead so I didn't think this thread would get many replies if I posted it in there. Anyway,I'm doing TY next year and I'm just wondering do you have the same teachers you have in 3rd year or are the teachers totally different? Also, for TY's what's the first day back like? Do you do much work,etc..? Thx :)

Depends on your school really. I had some teachers that were the same but I think that was just a coincidence. You'll be doing new subjects no doubt so your first day back should be more of an introduction to those subjects

Yeah different in every school. In mine some of the core subjects like Irish and Maths were split into modules that were taken by different teachers, so I had about 5 different teachers just for Irish throughout the year. TY doesn't really have a set program as such, just a general jist that each school takes differently.

As each school varies, i would say you should ask people you know in your school who are in TY now, or ask the TY coordinator.

You might have some of the same, I have some of the same now, it just depends on your timetable and your teachers and the subjects that your doing. Each school will be different in how they approach it really.

As for the first day back, again it'll differ from class to class. This year we spent the first 3 or 4 class with our TY co-ordinator going through our timetable, sorting out dates for stuff, going through work experience stuff etc and just generally getting to know each other (with some game that involved mnms). This was really good because I don't think there was one person in the class whho knew everyone because TY is ooptional so we were all in different class last year. After that though we had the rest of our class for that day and we just really soent those going through what we were going to do fo the year etc, what stuff we were going to need to get.
