Uh, OP, you're the registered owner. Unless you didn't put your name on the VRC...

Form is only available from tax offices i think,
needs signing from comissioner of oaths and main dealer.

A 1983 car would not have one of those new fangled things. It would have a big lump of cardboard fashioned into a book instead.

If it was a 1983 imported from outside Ireland in recent times (since 2000) then it would have the VRC instead of the old cardboard "Tax book"

How did you manage to acquire the car without having it registered to you OP? Sounds very dodgy to me.

I can assure you there is nothing dodgy about this,i found the car in a field in 2007,paid the farmer (who has since died) but he didnt have the book eiher, was planning on just using it for parts as i have several of the same model but got offered good money yesterday and i want to supply a tax book

OP, you need to get a form in the local tax office to apply for reg. documents in your name.

On this form, you will need to give
    • Your name & address
    • Chassis number
    • Main dealer stamp verifying they have checked the car, the chassis and model type are correct, etc..
    • Signature witnessed by Peace Commisioner
Send this to Shannon with a letter outlining the circumstances of how the car came into your ownership, and you should get your new documents.

Been here, done this, takes about 12 days.
