    Hi all,
I'm hoping to buy a new MTB the problem I have is that I never heard off the likes of FELT/FOCUS before,Back in my day it was Diamond Back &Muddy Fox etc has anyone got any experience with those two brands and how would they compare to Specialised&Raliegh.
I have also noticed that there is quiet a few new shops around these days where as in the 90s there was hardings&cycleways and that was about it,:eek:I do hear quiet a few adverts for euro cycles on the radio and was thinking of heading into see what they have in stock would like to hear if anyone has had dealings with them good or bad or maybe you could point me in the right direction regarding other shops.
I'm thinking of spending between 700-800e maybe a little more if I can convince the company that I work for to do the bike to work scheme.

    Hi donkey balls

Are you going to actually going to use the bike off road or is it mainly for getting from A to B?

Bike shops that I like are:
Cycleways, CycleSuperstore, Mikes Bikes, Wheelworx and The Bike Rack.

Also, maybe consider having a look online:

    chainreactioncycles.com and wiggle.co.uk

Hi grimpeur at first mainly it would be for getting me from A to B it's about seven years since I,ve been on a bike so I reckon i will have a sore arse and legs at the start.

Personally, I use my mountain bike quite a lot for getting round the city, big nobbly tyres and all.
Considering the state of Dublin streets I feel a lot safer and a lot more comfortable on it than the road bike.

If you're going to use the bike for both urban and eventually off road biking then I'd recommend a hard tail.
That would be suspension on the front forks but no suspension on the rear.
While cycling round town just lock out your suspension for a faster, more efficient ride.

My own bike is a Specialized 'Rockhopper' and I would definitely recommend it.

You might also want to check out hybrid bikes if you're not totally committed to the whole off-road thing.
