Aldi are selling a compressor, air gun, air ratchet etc. from this Sunday...

    http://www.aldi.ie/ie/html/offers/offers_week11Sunday11.htm

I'd be inerested to hear if these are any good? For instance would the airgun/compressor combination be able to open CV nuts/crankshaft bolts etc.?

Guys, is the compressor up to much? / decent? I've never owned one - often thought about it though. Is this unit a bit under powered for say sand or soda blasting?

Enough capacity to remove 5 wheel nuts.

Plug, are you being serious? Is that all?

Thats about the height of it.

The air guns are shyte too. I have seen them come into our place from the back of a Transit van numerous times to only last a few mins.

The good thing is though, when you have enough of them you can normally make one out of several of them though.

Might pick up the air ratchet though if I am passing, some toe-rag broke the return spring on the good one I had

Only joking but it is fair small, the capacity wouldn't allow it to hold a load of air so reduced work time between compressions.

I bought pretty much all the air tools for my compressor (50L) but it doesn't seem to be able to run any of the tools right.

With the impact wrench I can actually hold the chuck in place with my hand.
Is the problem my compressor or is it the tools?

Did anyone else use their tools yet?

Does your compressor have an air gauge on it and what pressure is it showing.

Most air tools need about 8 bar to work right.

If you have 8 bar, take off the back cover off the air gun and take out the motor and then the anvil and shaft. Try a bit of grease on the shaft and make sure everything is turing freely

    Thanks for the reply.
Got the compressor to output 8 bar (max), everything seems to work ok (not amazing) apart from the impact wrench.

I took the wrench apart and gave it a good clean and oiling (all fine inside) - but not much of an improvement, still quite weak, it can do very light work, but nowhere near stong enough to loosen the wheel studs on my car.
