Will you be investing in the stock market?

All of a sudden there seems to be a bombardment of advertisements nationwide by companies willing to train you to "make your fortune" on the stock market, or companies simply providing a base to operate out of. You think people would learn, but I bet some fool will still lose Junior's already battered college fund on it, all the while dreaming of Wall Street and Boiler Room.

Don't get me wrong, I know a minority kick ass at it but the majority will lose. Will you be embarking on trading from home?

Oh and to make it more After Hoursish, feck drink arse ****!

If you or I owned a fantastic system for trading that would make money do you think we'd sell it to other amateur investors? Of course not, you guard it with your life!

I wouldn't do a single one of those courses

The likes of deltaindex have dummy accounts though, you can set up competitions with your friends if you wish

No, not now because I know f**k all about stocks and shares.

Maybe in a few years if I have some spare money for investing I might put it into some companies or bonds after I've done enough research or hired a good broker.

I wouldn't bother investing really, not for a lack of interest, but because I simply wouldn't have the time to understand all the risks involved. I would consider buying into a managed fund, but that's about it.

It's interesting to see how a generation of Irish people will be wary of investing in shares now, following the bank crashes. Not a bad thing though.

You really need to know the market inside out and even then there are big risks so I'd recommend you stick to trading souls. What's the price on one of those nowadays?

You never know when there is going to be an upsurge in demand for either of those

I've watched the sequel to Wall Street recently and it appears to me that the hardest part about playing the market is to get enough LCD monitors together in one place. I currently have 3 but I think I'll need 6 before I dip my toe in.

Shares (in certain companies) are a safer bet than the banks atm and for the near to medium term future, so anyone with a wodge of cash would be wise to think about investing. The unfortunate side of that is that people with not quite a full wodge of cash but nonetheless believes themselves to be a smart, savvy, upwardly mobile individual will be interested in these ads and probably end up losing their money or making bad investments, then go crying for a bailout....
