If your a private seller on ebay what is the Story with Vat when shipping within the EU?

For instance I sold an ebay thats been bought by a guy in Malta of all places, I screwed up the shipping so its gonna cost me a bomb. Do i need to put in an invoice or is "GIFT" good enough?
I sold something else to Belgium. They are small Value Items under 50 Euro in each case

VAT is not an issue unless you are registered for VAT. You dont need to register for VAT purposes unless your turnover(!) exceeds a certain annual threshold which I believe is 250k

With a value under €50, I wouldnt worry about it..

It's the recipient that needs to worry about import taxes, not the seller. Just send it as is, but don't lie on customs declarations. Let the buyer worry about that.

As a private seller you're not charging VAT and don't need to bother with adding it, declaring it or in any other way think about it.

Doing that is illegal, as it amounts to attempted fraud. Don't mark it as anything.

As he's sending from one EU country to another EU country in this case it would make no difference either way.

Goods being sent within the EU don't need any declaration, but declaring something as a gift when it is not, is illegal and should not be done.

No need to put anything on it, you don't pay tax to sell within the EU its kind of the point of the EU.
