Its time to abolish welfare

Why does our government keep steeling our tax money to pay for people who not only dont work, but dont seem to want to work. Isnt it obvious to the fools in governemnt that if there were no social welfare that people would be forced to look for work instead of been a burden on the state.

And all the people who couldnt get jobs would probably start a business and make money that generating more money in the economy. We are losing a lot of money in two ways, first from people are not working and second from people who are steeling other peoples money through goverment imposed welfare.

Its time to abolish welfare and return the money to its rightful owner, the taxpayer.

If you return all the taxes to the taxpayers, they are no longer taxpayers.

    True story.

    First it's stealing.

Second, although there may be some abuse of the social welfare system, there aren't many people who would think it a good idea to get rid of it in its entirety.

Third, where do the magic jobs appear from that people can get after you get rid of it? Do you seriously think that all or most of the 400,000+ unemployed don't want to work? How come so many people are emigrating then?

Fourth, are you gonna pay for the inevitable civil unrest and crime epidemic that would result in people not being able to feed themselves or their kids>

Fifth, social welfare aids the creation of companies, see some of the Scandanavian countries for how social welfare backing helps local entrepreneurs.

    Possibly.

But by suggesting that he is an idiot without actually saying it, as you have just done, was very clever.

You're right, we should take it back and put the money into education. If we'd done that a few years ago maybe you'd be able write at a higher standard?

Well. Seeing as I have paid tax for 20 years and was out of work for 6 months I think I paid for my 6 months of welfare.
    Stupid stupid post.

The unemployment rate at the height of the boom (bubble) was around 3%. It is now closer to 15%. Therefore, one can conclude that the majority of people on the dole were formerly employed but now unable to find work. There are far fewer layabouts in this country than people seem to think.

    Uninformed troll is uninformed.

So after over 10 years of making PRSI, tax, and in recent years, levy contributions. You say I should get nothing after being made redundant?

Well, Jane Eyre called him a moron and seems to have gotten away with it. Also, calling him an idiot is more a statememt of fact than an opinion.

Notice the way he doesn't come back to defend his opinoin. I say idiot, troll, Adrian Kennedy, or all three.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

People on the dole should be made servants to tax payers.

Polish my shoes, clean my car, take out my garbage, suck my cock etc.

OP, how about we kick out all the Polish and immirants. Problem sorted. Jobs for us.

Seriously though, I dont have a problem with SW recipients. I do have a problem with those politicians who are receiving fat pensions as a bonus for running the country into the ground. Thats bigger theft. I think there should be a cap on those fat pensions. Maybe cap pensions at 40 to 50k a year. Money saved from their fatter pensions can go towards job creation.

abolish welfare... don't be silly... what happens if you get a long term illness or lose your job.

However I feel there is a strong argument for serious welfare reform. In my mind people staying on the dole for 5 years + should have their benefits seriously cut or at least be expected to do some sort community service to maintain them.

Likewise I feel it is unfair that someone who is over a year on the dole after working for for the last 10+ years gets €17 a week just because their partner works - they also get €0 rent allowance because they/the bank own the house that is now worth less than they paid for it.

I actually thought it was an error...but misspelling stealing twice in a post is unforgivable!
For you to put up this post indicates that you are working at the moment...now my question would be where do you work at? If it is a job that requires basic writing skills in English then the majority of folks on benefits will easily replace you in a jiffy...which essentially means you will become unemployed, that means you will become one of the "steelers"....

That'd be grand until we get kicked out of the EU and the services industry which relies on cheap labour dries up under the impact of the cuts. As for the OP, I think he should perhaps find his way to politics.ie, he'd fit in perfectly with that sites ethos being a troll and a right wing nutcase to boot.
