It no longer works on my phone, or on a few of my mates. Its also not available on the market either as far as I can see. Is this part of the virus pull that Google actioned recently?

No gambling apps allowed in the market place since January.

You can download it here though http://www.getjar.com/paddy-power

One thing I hate about Apple is their closed market and standards, what they say goes. I love the freedom Android gives you (even something as simple as an app that will play xvid files instead of spending time converting your videos to some stupid Apple codec).

I don't gamble but am not impressed that Android are banning gambling apps.

go to website via your browser. PP will recognise what browser you have. Then just add a "shortcut to home" and it comes up on your phone like an app

Hey lads, I've followed the above steps of downloading the new app from get jar and trying to go to the paddy power mobile site from my browser but am getting a failed to communicate to server error. Any one else getting this?

Can't understand why they pulled it from the market when Apple seem fine with it - it's not as if paddypower are some small one-person basement app operation...

I have the android one on my galaxy s since it came out and it's still working fine (handy this week when I get a last minute tip like for yesterdays last race :) ).

The poster above is dead on though, go to the main site in your browser and you can download the app from there or just browse away as normal.

These days I just use the web version of the Paddy Power app because as far as I can see it is identical to the native app you download from Getjar. I can't see any difference anyway. The benefit of web apps is that you never have to update them.

Another development from Paddy Power is that they've developed a BlackBerry betting app that has been adapted specifically for the BlackBerry RIM platform. Those who's tried to use BlackBerry web apps before will know that they tend to be designed mainly for iPhones so often do not work great on BlackBerry's. Paddy Power are the first bookmaker to develop a sports betting app primarily for BlackBerrys.
