Broke my laptop screen with a heavy thumb. Something cracked inside but not the glass on the outside. Screen is displaying bad horizontal and vertical lines from the point of the inner crack.
    Its a 17" screen on a HP Pavillion dv9500

My question is in relation to sourcing another compatible screen to replace myself. Id go second hand if i could find one. Does anyone know what Im looking for? Would any 17 inch screen form any laptop work or would it need to be specifically for my dv9500?

    Thanks for any help offered.
    Grif

a lot of them are interchangeable but you'd have to search for one to match your product number of the laptop to be sure. A quick look on ebay suggest it'll be about 120-150 for a new screen shipped.
Theres always the possibility you'll be nabbed for tax on top of that so factor that into it before ya buy. :)
