Struggling to have any motivation to work

I'm in 5th year and I think I'm aiming for a course with pretty high points (around 550 is the plan). Last year was really tough and I'm still dealing with a lot of the fallout by myself, the rest of the family seem to pretend it never happened.

Whats happened now is where before Christmas I was really good at doing 2-3 hours of study a night, always had all my homework done, didn't mind going to school, now I just feel so done with the entire thing. I'm sick to death of being bossed around all the time, wasting my time in pointless classes that seem to take up a vast percentage of my week and just general crap I don't want to be doing. I'm sick of not getting to be myself ever. I'm not close to anyone in my school or in fact anyone in my life, I just find my friends in school exhausting to be around even though they're so nice. I'm not keeping up with my work in school to the extent I need to and I know my results are going to suffer. How do I get back to getting at least some work done or at least not feeling so crap about it all the time? :(

The schooling system is great for maybe 70% of people. There are those at the lower end who can't deal with the high expectations and those at the higher end who grow tired of the mediocrity. I'm sure it doesn't help that most of your teachers just aren't that smart.

I will say this. Points or no points, the most important things in life never appear in exams.

One trick I learnt was to stop doing the stupid crap some teachers make you do. Some of them really are that mediocre, they presume you won't study if they don't create some meaningless and inefficient exercise for you to produce. You need to be more independent, and you honestly need to have some confidence in your own ability. I basically boycotted my business studies class in 6th year because I thought her homework was a complete waste of time. Eventually she just refused to allow me in. She insisted on wasting my time with her utterly meaningless nonsense exercises. Guess what. I ended up with an A1 ;)

Focus less on getting a cumulative points total and try to just take it one exam at a time. If you write with confidence and belief the points will flow. And try not to worry. It'll only make it worse.

Don' worry OP, it happens. I remember doing my LC. You go through periods where you are really motivated and hop off the books and then there are times when you can't bring yourself to do the monotonous same old same old that is studying for the LC. You're only in 5th year and you already are working hard for the LC. Fair play to you for that. Alot of people in 6th don't even take it half as seriously as you do. The best way to motivate yourself imo is to think of your ultimate goal. By aiming for 550 points I assume that is University.
Just keep your eye on the prize, but don't burn yourself out. You're only goin through a low-motivation period and its next to impossible to study when this happens. And you're only in 5th year. You have plenty of time, believe me.
