Public Appointments Service Competancy Based Interview

    Hi all
Have some queries in relation to a job i went for in the public sector recently
It was a competancy based interview whereby the candidate was marked on the written information the candidate had written for the panel - essentially the application form and also marks were awarded for the interview itself.

I came first on the panel but was intrigued as none of the information presented on the application form was vetted as correct/incorrect. I gave no referees - as i stated that these were available on request - yet they were not requested.

How can this be fair and ethical in terms of the other candidates who went for the interview as i could have stated anything on my application form. I could have really blown my own trumpet on certain areas that would have given me potentially extra marks. Dont worry - all the info i gave was true!

Just interested from a hr/code of conduct point of view.

    Any thoughts on this?
