Its the start of Lent today so aside from the usual giving up stuff what would people think about signing up for a Daily Training Streak until Easter?

God knows (;)) I'm all in favour of Rest Days but they could just be days with active recovery, cross training and/or core/stretching sessions?

Its not a competition, just a mutual support thread. Any races you do of course count as 'training'.

A simple idea - every day for the next 40+ days I'm going to do something.

    How about a lenten challenge?

You estimate excatly how many kms you will run , cycle , swim, ski or whatever, or even how many mters you will climb on the bike or mountain runs etc...

Basically predict any training metric for the duration of Lent only and see if you can accomplish 100% your goal. It can be anythig. A zillion sit ups, a hundred miles running, 10k vertical climbing, 2000 bunny hops on the mtb, 327 minutes of swimming....

Have a think and set an intereting goal. A training streak could be the first

    RedB - Train every day

Unfortunately keeping a Training Streak going will be a big enough challenge for me :o.

However, given that I have faith () in reaching my basic goal I see the advantage in also setting a target. Of course everyone will have their own potential targets to aim for so my version of that is to hit the following before Easter Sunday (46 days = 6.5 wks).

    Running: 150 miles (Based on 3 days / wk (2 x 5M, 1 x 12M) + change)
    Swimming: 30,000m (Based on 3 days x 1,500m / wk + change)
    Cycling: 750km (Based 2 days / wk (40km + 75km) + change)

There's a bit of flexibility built in there so don't laugh!

    Day 1 - 1600m swim done.
