Switching Oil to Gas

Hi guys. I'm thinking about switching from oil to gas in the next few months. Its a 4bed semi with 11 rads. I was also thinking about changing the gun barrell piping to copper while I'm at it and replacing the rads.

There is no en suite, just a shared bathroom upstairs and a downstairs toilet. I want to create an ensuite for one bedroom using the existing bathroom and turn the smallest bedroom (box room) into a large bathroom. At a later stage I plan to convert the attic to gain that bedroom back, so possibly run pipes to the attic too.

I've had one or two plumbers out who said it was too big a job for them. Any ideas on cost etc? I know the bathroom costs depend on units and fittings etc but would just like a rough guide price. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

I did similar job last week.5400 ex vat (less 700 grant) for new heating. 11 rads , Bosch boiler. Bathrooms would have to be seen but allow about a grand each IMO.:pac:

I'd say jedstaff is on the button there. Of course each installation is different.

Thanks for that. Can anyone recommend a good plumber who wouldn't be afraid to take it on? Basically a new heating system, removal of gun barrel, new gas boiler, rads and bathrooms. Water pressure isn't great so would like pumps for the showers too. Looking at the possibility of solar panel heating also. I'm in Blanchardstown. Thanks
