    Hi,

Just wondering how much in general is a bar extension, and is there much look with cutting a deal with hotel to get it down, our hotel is telling us it is a set price of €500 so there is no chance, but I think that seems alot.

    Thanks a mill

Our hotel threw it in free of charge into the package. A lot of hotels are doing that now.

It would kill me to pay for a bar extension to be honest - your guests, depending on the size of your wedding, could drop between €5k-€10k in the bar and booking rooms for the night and perhaps lunch in the bar the next day. So you give them €10k worth of business and they want a measly 500 off you? It SUCKS!

Haggle on that, tell them the hotel up the road is offering it for free and can they match that, or at least go halves with you.

Firstly its about €380 ish too lazy to check exactly what the cost is.

secondly most hotels give the bar extension FREE.

Its in their interest as they are making money at the bar.

Be as cheeky as you like here. tell them your not paying and if they want to turn away the bar profits thats up to them.

its worth listing off local hotels that throw it in free aswell to let them know you are very aware of the situation in the wedding market regarding bar extensions

most hotels give it for free. Ultimately they will make enough on the night to cover the cost.

Of the hotels that do charge, I have seen prices ranging from 300 to 500.

I have a relative who is a bar manager. It costs the hotel at least 400 euro for a bar extension, i guess some places just cant afford to throw i in for free

call their bluff on it. tell them thats fine your not paying so if they dont want the extra bar revenue thats their choice.

you can always turn around at a later stage if they dont buckle and stump up for it if your that way inclined
