How do you tune in Saorview on Sky box.

I have just installed my own Freesat/Terristrial service using a non subscribtion Sky Box. I noticed a terristerial input on the back of the box.

Question: Is it possible to tune in the Irish terristerial stations through this input and will they appear on the EPG. If possible, how is this achieved

There is no terrestrial tuner in a Skybox (in Ireland/UK anyway).
This input is for either looping through to your main tv (RF out 1) or for combining the aerial signal with modulated UHF signal from skybox for distribution to other rooms (RF out 2). So unless you're going to distribute the signal in this manner there isn't any point to using it.

    No wonder you're confused.

Sky boxes are satellite boxes only. You will not get Saorview on a Sky box. It's like trying to play CDs on a cassette recorder.

If we were all as bright as you, there would be no need for boards.ie
and the nice people who give non condesending helpful information to those of us with lesser intellegence than you.

I will be courteous and thank you for the post anyway.

To be fair digital terrestrial signals are definitely not satellite receiver friendly.

    It won't get Saorview.

It would make a good door stop though.

Also technically belongs to UPC (bought NTL). Only works for them.

You need an MPEG4 compatible *terrestrial* tuner of some sort to pick up Saorview.
