Depends on what 'diet' you are following OP.....low fat, low carb etc. My concern with packaged soup regardless of the diet method you choose is the salt content (the above mentioned looks to be about half the daily recommendation) and the ingredients list i.e how processed it is.

Would you think about making a batch of your own soup?

But those are just my concerns. Your overall diet seems healthy, you sound like you're well on your way. Make sure you get some exercise, plenty of veggies, water....and lean protein to keep you full.

And well done so far ;)

Ok so i might be taking in too much salt?????? Ive made my own weight watchers no point soup and its horrible, i couldn't stick to it much longer!

So how do i know how processed the food is that i am eating? I dont want to think im doing good when in fact im doing more damage!

    What carbs do you recommend?

I am currently doing Pilates to tone up muscles and walking for Cardio!

Firstly - didn't mean to panic you, sorry :)

The one packet of soup itself is not too much salt, its only half your recommended daily allowance. So it depends on the other stuff you are eating throughout the day. Its just salt is everywhere in food, frightening if you hunt for it. So just keep an eye on it, maybe google some of the culprit foods....salty foods make you thirsty - sometimes mistaken for hunger, so watch out for that as well.

To be honest, my one problem with WW is the amount of procesed food they 'sell', so my opinion might take you off track...all I would say is to try your best to steer clear of things that come in a box with ingredients that you do not recognise. Normally, when fat is removed they replace it with something else. I'm no expert but have tried WW and was starving. Eating all those WW bars, ready meals left me feeling like crap.

Carbs - ALL vegetables (yum!), fruit in moderation, sweet potatos...basically try to go low GI. Slow release, keeps you full for longer. Veggies are super foods.

Exercise - pilates and walking is execellent. Try and keep your cardio consistent and regular. even if its 20 mins a day. You can always vary it up with swimming, cycling....keep it interesting and keep it up.

Again OP this is my experience and opinion - I am not an expert. Have a good read of this forum though and you will get great info.

Ok so the soup is ok as long as i watch my salt intake in my dinner!!!! Gotcha!!!

My opinion is totally the same about ww!!!! i hated all the meals and they wouldnt fill a hole in your tooth, i did like the weight watchers recipes tho where you know whats going into your own food!

I do have the wii fit (which im not too sure consists of much cardio) but i like to do the wii dance and i do find myself out of breathe!

All in all is this diet and exercise a healthy way to drop pounds or am i taking in too few calories per week?

I cant tell exactly if your calorie intake is correct - but there is a tool in the 'Nutrition 101' thread (I think) that will calculate this for you. It takes into account BMR firstly which is important. Have a read, its not as scary as you think. :)

It is important to eat enough, otherwise you will either binge or get really weak and not have the energy for your workout. That thread will answer questions. (some of the Mods on here really know their stuff).

From the high lever diet you posted....

Breakfast - I'm not a cereal person myself, but I believe porridge is the way to go. could you have an egg too? Protein is great at filling you up.

Lunch - looks great but have some tuna with your salad or another lean protein

Dinner - protein and veg is always good.

Are you snacking? I'd have to snack or I would fall down. I snack on fruit or nuts. Or my latest craze is celery stick with organic peanut butter on it. Weird but so addictive!

I'm not a Wii girl, I prefer the outdoors. If you want to know if you are getting a work out, try the talk test. Can you:
    1. talk and sing - low intensity
    2. talk but not sing - med. intensity
    3. barely talk - high intensity

Unless you are seriously athletic, I would aim for level 2 so as to avoid injury.

As it is helpful advice you are looking for, I would ignore the previous poster.

As regarding soup, I absolutely love home made soup. I basically go to my nearest veg shop, pick up whatever ingredients I fancy at the time and with a few herbs and stock you've a great tasting meal. There's a soup thread somewhere here, it's great, I'll try and find the link for you later. It's worth giving it another go.

I know homemade soup can be bland, but try adding chilli powder, curry powder (not together lol), basil, marjoram....there are so many and they make a difference. Or even add mixed beans - great for fibre, energy and give it a little bit extra
