03 Renault Laguna wont always start

    Problem started 4 days ago

    The car would not start initially. engine was not turning over at all. lighting on dash lit up but nothing else. Tried it about 10 times and finally started.

    Left the car parked for about 36 hours and would not start at all this time. same as before. Got a set of jump leads and it started first time. Drove it for over an hour and parked it. Tried to start it straight after I turned it off and nothing.

    parked car at work for 6 hours and would not start again. hooked it up to another car's battery and nothing. on putting the key card in the engine was making a funny noise. sounded as if there was air in the diesel pump/piping. very empty tank. filled it up and still nothing.

    breakdown assist called out and he started it when hooked up to battery pack by tapping the start/stop button and kinda wiggling the key card.

    is all of this jsut a dodgy battery? or is the key card screwed? it is a relatively new one (~1yr)
