Increased Appetite.

    Hey Guys,

Im a first year in college and since the start of college I have been losing a lot of weight. Ive gone from like 40" to 36" waist and lost two ish stone. Now the funny thing is, my exercise level hasn't exactly skyrocketed since I got to college. For some reason I just keep losing weight.

Anyway, all of semester one, I basically eat very few sweets/snacks or sugary drinks...they weren't around so I didn't take them. Usually drank water instead etc. I also noticed that my appetite went down considerably.

Since the start of semester 2, I have had more sweets and diet drinks and ive noticed a jump in my appetite, like before, never totally satisfied for a long period.

I was looking this up and I was thinking maybe its possible that the artificial sweeteners and refined carbohydrates in these foods are leading to my increased appetite ? I am no food scientist, so I don't really know.

    Thanks.

well I'm defo not a scientist! But I can give you my experience.....if I am eating crap and by crap I mean, sweets, biscuits, sugary things or bread, pasta - my appetite is HUGE. I eat bigger meals and am always hungry.

Now, I've changed my diet. I go paleo the majority of the time i.e. no processed foods, very little refined carbs....I was shocked at first how even my portion size became smaller. I lost half a stone without major exercise as well.

As an experiment, I started a day last week with cereal - starving after an hour!! Then had a sandwich for lunch...all I wanted was chocolate that evening. And was famished by dinner......just doesn't suit me!
