Broken SR-25 as base for project

As per title I'm looking for a broken SR-25 (let's face it, no one is going to sell one that's working!) to use as a base system for a new project. Make/model/configuration irrelevant as it's really the receiver/gearbox I need.

Depending on condition will pay up to €100.

Another possible option is if anyone happens to see one in a shop boneyard, if you do please drop me a line.

I'm still searching (apparently in vain) for an SR-25 for use as a base for a new project. Surely somebody has one lying around, gathering dust? I will happily consider one that is working, it's just that I figured no one would want to sell a working SR-25.

Still hoping that someone, somewhere, has an SR-25 they might consider selling. A non-functioning Sr-25 is fine, all I need is a base platform for a project so once the externals are OK it will do for me. I would even consider a complete receiver i.e no stock or front end.

Hi eirez, is the JG SPR based on a 5.56 or 7.62 platform? I already have a 5.56 SPR project underway, I'm really only looking for a 7.62 system to fill the gap in my collection.

If you could post a pic that would be allow me to decide if it's worth me travelling over to see it.

    Mark.

How much would I get for an A&K SR-25 receiver (steel) in good condition (apart from finish, needs to be redone) Gearbox, motor, barrel (GB needs new wiring, piston has a bit of wear on it, steel gears AFAIK, ****e compression) with 2 A&K mags, one G&P (all 450~ rd), and whatever other bits and bobs needed (pistol grips etc)?

This is merely a hypothetical you see, not sure if I want to let it go.

They're only worth what someone's willing to pay and I'm on a very tight budget which is why I'm ideally looking for a broken SR-25 as a project. A decent condition/fully-working example + accessories went for €270 on here not so long ago but that's way outside my budget. It sounds like yours would need a good bit of work just to get it right in stock condition, that's before any major upgrading.

Would you know which gearbox is in that A&K, the 'standard' SR-25 box or the extended M4/M16 version?

I don't understand? a standard SR-25 gb entirely depends on the brand, the one in mine is basically an elongated ver.2, other SRs use standard ver.2

I'm only going on what I've been told, which is that there is a dedicated SR-25 gearbox in some while others use a hybrid v2.

Apparently A&K used both at different stages of production, hence the reason I asked the question. The SR-25 gearbox is meant to be the better option but needs dedicated SR-25 parts, apart from a couple of exceptions the hybrid v2 uses standard v2 parts.

Without turning this into a discussion thread can anyone confirm/deny/elaborate?

A&K only ever used an elongated V2 in their SR25's, seems like you've been told they have a SR-25 specific one and an extend m4/m16..ect V2.. Which are the same thing..
The A&K sr-25 is based on the Classic Army and G&P SR-25s..

The search goes on, still looking for an SR-25 either working or working. I see very few out on the field of play so either no one in my area has one or they never take it out to play.

Almost 9 months on & still looking for an SR-25. Anyone out there got one they don't want/need, broken/disassembled considered as long as most (90%+) of the parts are there
