What Price for Silage

    How much would yea expect to pay for good quality round bales silage. Collected

    Neighbour asked €25. Thought it is bit high.

    Just give me an idea. I will only need around 25 bales and don't want to be too awkard with him.

    €20 a bale around Wexford for first cut silage off of a reseed.

    Paid 25 for haylage that was infact second cut silage when opened. Cowboys out there still.

    25 is too much for the man buying , not near enough for the man selling

    What part of the country are you? I have rp12 bales of silage for €15/bale.

    20 euro each here laoise tipp area might go up again the weather is suppose to turn very bad towards end off week

    €18 collected and €20-€22 delivered around here. Price has stayed fairly steady all Winter

    Make sure to check the quality of what you are buying and the "size"!! I know the bales will all be 4x4 but there can be a big difference in the quantity of feed from bale to bale. Might be better looking for a farmer looking to sell spare feed rather than someone who has baled intending to sell.
