    Hi

I posted a few days ago about the unusual position I’m in: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056198120

I’ve since contacted free legal aid but they haven’t been able to advice me. I’ve searched my grandparent’s house but they neglected to keep any legal documents…. I’ve basically hit a brick wall, but from what I can piece together my name was never legally changed. I’ve decided to just go to the deed poll office and change it myself. I’ve rang them multiple times see if I need to make an appointment to come in but they never answer their phone.

Does anyone know if this is a drop in service, or do I need to make an appointment to go in? Do you know what time they open/close at?

Here's a link with the details....

http://www.courts.ie/Courts.ie/library3.nsf/(WebFiles)/8804ECF216CA2F808025756D003F0FC0/$FILE/Change of name by deed poll.pdf

If you go to the Central Office of the High Court (in the Four Courts, main building, map available at courts.ie), the first desk is for judgements and for deed poll inquiries. You don't need to take a ticket.

They open at 10am and close at 430pm, Monday to Friday.
