very poor optical lens. Can't imagine it being any good for sports.

Lol i checked amazon yesterday and couldnt find anything under 180 pounds for a standard def one, lots of complaints about this one on there too either not working or leaking when in water. Its a bit small looking not sure how easy it would to hold onto out in a 8foot swell. Have you used this one ?

Have you a good link i checked amazon and they are running at over 250 pounds which is way out of my price range, i know it might make sense to buy the better one but its just not an option to spend that kind of money im stretching it to get the 150 to be honest.

these would be better and come with mounts for the surfboard. how do you plan to use it?

theres no zoom so you'll need it on you,

Ill be using it hand held to record others rather than to record myself. Those ones in the link are more suited to recording out in front of you while you surf but those video's never look great unless your getting in very deep barrels.

I picked up this Lidl one they have a 28day no questions asked money back guarantee so took the risk. Just testing it out now quality is pretty good, sound is as expected and bad but the camera is a nice size to hold nice big buttons to record in the freezing water.

look for somewhere selling the sanyo xacti vpc-ca9.

it does 720p recording plus high speed still shots at the same time straight to sdcard and is waterproof.

i got one for my brother in law's birthday last year and its great for the money.

it's on amazon for £165, but you can still get it on ebay for a lot less.

it's not the newest most fancy camcorder on the market and it only does 720p, not full 1080p hd, but it's still a steal for the money even now imho and the quality is plenty enough for most uses, with the waterproofing being the real selling point and something that owuld suit your use.

gets a decent review at trusted reviews too. :)

buy yourself a 2nd battery and an 8gb (fast) sd card to go wiht it and you're sorted.
