Has anyone bought one of them? They have v cheap ones for €10 and others for €40. The dearer ones gives amplification upto 45db. Would this ensure a good signal??? These ones also have UHF/VHF. Does this mean that they would pick up TV3 along with the other channels. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    It depends on your location,
how far are you from the transmitter, have you got a line of sight of it?

I think there is a transmitter v close...2/3 miles as the crow flies and it would be overlooking the valley. But I guess with these you can't be certain?

tesco are quite good with returns, so if you keep your receipt and are very careful taking it out of the box and putting it back in they should refund you.

just ask when your in again if you can return it if it doesn't work with your tv, that your not sure about buying it because it might not suite the tv you have and then you'll know if it's worth risking getting it

There are NO sensible set-top aerials in Tesco.

    See http://www.techtir.ie/radio-tv/uhf-aerials

Some of the bargain stores have indoor aerials as good for €2 to €6

If a €2 to €14 indoor aerial doesn't work, you need outdoor.

Don't by a "One for all". Overpriced plastic.

If you can see the mast from room with TV, an indoor aerial is likely OK, otherwise better to get a roof aerial and then you can feed any number of rooms with a high quality signal.

An inadequate signal on digital gives coarser picture, especially on rapid movement and more often freezes or breaks up with interference.
