Storing negatives?

Hi all,

I'm wondering about storing 120 negatives, I'm picturing some sort of album with plastic sleeves inside to hold strips of negatives, I've heard they should be stored inside polyetheline. Does such an item exist, and where might I get one?

Also, is it worth getting a small cheap light box and loupe, if i'm planning on getting low res scans with my developments?

You could always hold them in these and then into a hard folder/ring binder and then store them out of light/heat etc.

Get Neg sleeves that look like grease proof paper. better for the negs than the transparent plastic ones. They wont stick/get stuck to the grease proof paper style ones. Some plastics have a high acidic content and can slowly rot your negs away over a long period of time. There was a thread posted on this by DaireQuinlan (I think???) not so long ago with lots of useful answers. Daire has lots of beautiful negs to look after. I do think the general consensus was we should all look after our negs a hell of a lot better than we actually do.....didn't we?

I think our storage techniques were poor, lazy and we all should know better
