This may interest a few of you! Harbour Bar Bray* is playing host to Kinoteka film club recently. Missed the first one, but must say I'm quite excited about this Tuesday's screening Tampopo, a cult Japanese film concerning the joys of ramen (noodle soup). One I've been meaning to watch for a long time, and I'm impressed that this club is actually going out of the way to pick truly offbeat films to show!

Might be worth keeping an eye on as club certainly shows a lot of potential. And hey you get to visit the official Lonely Planet's best bar in the world in the process :p Just don't mind the toilets.

*full disclosure: Has been my local since I was old enough to be there, but I'm in no way affiliated with it!

I have Tampopo in my film collection - its an excellent film. Really offbeat with some odd comedy moments, cookery elements and an erotic element involving an egg. Dont watch it if you like Turtles :)

Am indeed looking forward to it, have heard nothing but good things! Also, ramen is one of the most perfect foodstuffs ever created IMO, so I have a strong bias towards anything with said ambrosia as a central theme :pac:

I'd consider going only that Bray is an offensively horrible place to set foot in.

Much like the entire greater Dublin area so.
