Zanussi W/D pausing???

Hi all, our Zanussi washing machine looks like its pausing by itself. we press start and it just stops as if its paused and the light is blinking but no error msg is displayed . It's starts for about 5-10 seconds before it stops. we have drained it and cleaned the filter but nothing works.Product is a Zanussi WD 1471 S. To add, we had it on drying today (which we never use) and it was working fine for washing prior to that. I've also been able to get it to drain by skipping the washing, rinsing and spinning options and it's doing that fine but just won't seem to start a wash. Please help as I've left it til the weekend to do all our laundry and now have a tonne of it to do! :eek:

Just wondering if your water pressure might have something to do with it? I have a Siemens that sometimes does the same thing if the water pressure is low.

Thanks Breedie. Water pressure seems fine to be honest but will keep an eye on it all the same. good to know that that would affect it but don't think it is on this occasion. might just have to ring the Zanussi people! for now, all our laundry is at the laundrette at €15 a bag

I know it's been a long time but... Did you find a solution? Exactly the same its happening to my zanussi washing machine (including the dryer program which we never use)

Feels like zombie thread revival but our Zanussi has been doing similar thing for the past month or so. Stops after 15 mins, have to pause and restart, then again after about 40 minutes and again with 15 mins or so to go!
Had a repair man out to look at it and his opinion was to replace. Have it about 11 years
