3v card and using them with Aerlingus

    Hey guys,
Just wondering do Aerlingus accept 3v cards? I am hoping to book a flight within the next couple of days and I don't have a credit card so am thinking of buying a 3v card to book it.

Also, if Aerlingus do accept 3v, is there any additional charges that they make which would make the charge go over my 3v balance and thus not be able to book my flights?

Also, if I do buy a 3v card, do I then a have to register it online or is it valid from the moment I buy it?

And how long before they expire?

Sorry for all the questions! Would be really grateful for any help :)

I assume that you have already got a 3v card and mean that you just need to buy credit for it.

If you do have the card then bring it to the shop and buy credit. You will be given a receipt with the credit card number on it. You will recieved your security number by phone or text almost instantly and you can use your card away.

If you do not have a 3v card you will have to register with www.3v.ie who will send a card out for you.

You can use 3v to buy flights but ensure you have enough credit.

A 3v card is a Visa card number. So yes, this answers first question.

I can't really answer your second question. You will obviously have to find out how much the filght will cost before you go get a 3V voucher. Yes Aer Lingus have nasty taxes&charges as well as a handling fee and flight prices fluctuate (upwards usually)

No you don't register a 3V voucher online. You need a card to then go in to a shop to buy a voucher (disposable Visa number) All this info is on www.3v.ie

3V vouchers usually last for a month or so. Then I think it's about 6months to retrieve any left over funds though this incurrs a charge.

O2 launched a prepay credit card, and some credit unions offer a prepaid Mastercard too so you have plenty of options aside from 3v
