    Hi all,

I'm leaving UPC and would like to extract the programmes I've recorded on my HD box and not yet watched so I can save them and watch them on my laptop at some stage.

I can't figure out how to do this. Is it possible?

    Ben

Play them with VHS or DVD recorder connected to SCART.
Some may have macrovision and not record.

Thanks for the reply Watty. This may be so obvious that you didn't mention it but how do I actually get the recordings off the UPC box in the first place??

Play them on UPC box with a Analogue input recorder (VHS, DVD, HDD, whatever) connected to UPC box scart.

they may be protected. There are cheap devices on the market that will strip away the protection.

Not that cheap. Sold as Time base or sync pulse cleaners. It might be illegal in Ireland to sell them as Macrovision removers.
