    well boycotting israel on principle is fine and all but are the same people willing to also boycott China for their active apartheid in Tibet? Or their persecution of Muslims, Christians, Jews and other religious minorities. Or their constant bullying of and threats to invade taiwan?


    Or would that just be too much effort and not be very Convenient as it would mean no more cheap electronics or shiney overpriced apple products?

    I interpreted it as "You want to boycott Israeli goods? Look at all the things you can't live without that you'd have to boycott" which is a fair point. Also, I wonder whether boycotting Israeli goods would just cause Palestinians even more suffering as they are, not by choice, dependent on Israel in some ways.

    I'm very much opposed to Israeli occupation btw...

    The only real way to deal with Israel's crimes against humanity is through the UNSC, but of course this will never happen since their American lapdogs will always sell their souls to protect them, while making pontificating speeches about "freedom" and "democracy" to any other nation which acts the exact same way as Israel does.

    I know Sudan dont have much you can boycott but the crimes committed by their government in Darfur are probably the most horrific on the planet. There have been hundreds of thousands of people been killed over the last 10 years. I dont understand the obsession people have with Palestine when there is a genuine humanitarian disaster going on in Sudan. Maybe its just not sexy enough a humanitarian disaster.

    Well I don't give a **** about Palestine. I know that once they get their way people will just berate them for being Muslims.

    Or else we end up with a situation where all Muslims are the dog's bollix except Palestinians 'cause they stuck it to the Jews

    Im not saying people are purposely jumping on the save Palestine bandwagon just because its trending but subconsciously i think this is the main contributer to the Palestinian love-in, Irish people have.

    It's fair point. Take a look at all the oppression going on around the world. China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Burma, Colombia, DRC, Turkey...oh and all those lovely Arab dictators that are now on the run. How often have you seen people protesting outside the embassies and consulates of these countries in comparison to Israel's?? I'm not trying to defend Israeli actions just saying why is one cause seen as any more important than any other??

    I don't really boycott any country but I did refuse to watch any of the 2008 olympics on television out of disgust at them being held in China. So any small actions I take opposed to Israels activities aren't unique.

    And before anyone says 'Not watching tv, wow that'll make a big difference' well I didn't expect it to.
