PAYE balancing statement - Treatment of Result figure lower than Overpayment figure

Our PAYE balancing statement shows a Final Result - Overpayment of €362 (due to a med charges of €1,800 being claimed between the 2 of us) but the "Treatment of Result" says "a cheque for €220 will issue to your spouse".

    Can someone explain why:

    1) the cheque is lower than the overpayment and
    2) why they choose to send the cheque to my spouse - which doesn't matter but I'm just curious because a higher proportion of the med charges being claimed were for me

    thanks.

Answer - they sent the rest by direct credit to my bank account - must have bank details set up for me but not my wife.

They should state this on the PAYE balancing statement..I only saw it when looking at my bank statement.
