That Dublin SW podcast is a good listen.

A pity they didn't do a few more around the country
That's a college student project just waiting to be done in the next election

Ha, haven't heard the word "gazump" in a few years.
Lenihan and O'Connor seem to have spent more time competing with each other then the other candidates

Conor Lenihan is incredibly soft spoken in his manner. Now that's not a bad thing, I'm probably the same myself.
But makes few attempts at all to speak up for himself.
The people on the doorsteps are talking over him. Some rant and some give detailed and complicated arguments.

    Conor Lenihan, he's no debater

It was very interesting alright - Lenihan wasn't behind the bush in slagging off any of the angry electorate, was he? I also found him dismissive about their anger head on - like he knew he was banjaxed before he started.
There's something oddly comical about the man.

Switch on RTÉ Radio One now.

Documentary following the campaign trails of Conor Lenihan and Charlie O'Connor around Tallaght.

    Its riveting stuff.

I dont think Charlie or Conor ever got on very well. They were both fiercely competitive in 2007 but managed to both get in.

Neither wanted to withdraw from the race and they both got burnt.

Conor was very accepting of criticism and only really responded when people were being abusive or threatening. I suppose he knew there was no way he would convince people anyway. I'm not sure if either will contest the next election but I would say FF would be more likely to field Lenihan as the only candidate this time, even though O'Connor got more votes. O'Connor clearly is more of a "local" candidate and I think FF will be trying to move away from that style of politics in future.

    Great documentary
