I believe the fast food joint is colloquially known as "Empty your Pockets"

    :)

    Cheers op. Nice deal

Given the number of deals available for Empty Pockets, it's not actually that bad imho.

I don't think I've ever paid full price for anything in there (or else got it with a BOGOF deal), making the prices directly comparable to any of the other chippy/diner type places. What you actually get for the price is very subjective, but some seem to prefer the food there (perhaps it's the idea of getting something 'more expensive'?) and the portions are certainly pretty generous (although not generous enough to pay the full price :p).

only problem with this is you have to eat in eddie rockets.

I like eddies. I like the atmosphere. I like the food.

I think the new menu has good value items on it eg the meal deals.

Don't they do those meals for €6.99 anyway? And a cinema ticket would be about a tenner normally...

The meal is normally about a tenner. Its any buger (price depends what you get) about €7 and then its €3 for reg fries and reg drink. Then cinema ticket about a tenner, so this is about €3 saving.

Ah that's quite good so, I thought it was one of those little basket meals with half a sandwich and a handful of chips :p

Does this mean a family of 2 x adults and 2 x kids can each have a meal and see a movie for €20 total?

Tried to go onto omniplex.ie there to see if this same deal was available for limerick (we have an omniplex and empty your pockets right alongside one another) but the website seems to be down. The only part you can get into is the booking page.

Those meals are 2 for a tenner in Eddie Rockets here, you just need a coupon from the paper or a student card.

€17 for cinema and a burger and chips seems a bit pricey to me.

What are the student deals for on person in Empty Pockets. The don't have them advertised on the website. Do you just call into a branch and flash your card for a deal?

It's €9.50 into the omni cinema so €7.50 left for a meal in Eddie rockets - Mickey D's is just beside the cinema to... I'd prefer a big mac meal!works out cheaper ;)

Couldn't be because the family meal is €25 on its own. Confusing.

Because it says: "specials at omniplex Santry" and the family ticket bit has nothing to do with the Eddie's bit, it would make no sense. So to me that makes it look like it's another special offer.

It says €17 per person at the top of the image anyway.

I don't think they have any one person student deals, but in the two in Galway if you have a student card or one of the vouchers that are printed in both the local papers each week you get 2 Classic Burgers, 2 Fries and 2 soft drinks for €10. You can also pay an extra euro or so for dips or to have a milkshake.

They have a family meal too, if you have a voucher. IIRC it's 2 adult meals, two kids meals and 4 scoops of ice cream for €20.

I actually just found one of the vouchers and it says they can be used in any Eddie Rockets in Connacht or Munster.

The €20 Family Deal only applies to the cinema.

+1. Don't forget to factor in the additional cost in toilet roll when you get the squirts off the burger.

i think we should just let this thread go.. when i posted the deal, i thought it was €20 for eddies and the cinema for a family ticket..

i was very hungover.. brain operating @ 20% efficiency :o

Yeah, i really don't see how this deal is much of a saving. If it's about a tenner for that meal in eddies, it's then €7 in omni before 7, or €9 after... Doesn't seem like either of them were willing to give up much of their cut to make it appealing. Maybe if they'd called it at €15 and let a euro go each it'd be tempting.
Nearly seems like eddies forgot they had the €3 extra for fries and drink thing, and set this up as a reduction from the full price of all 3 things separately...

Edit: just worked it out. The cost of the stuff in that deal is €9.50-€10.50 for the eddies side, and €7-€9 for the omni side. So if you bought one of the cheaper things and went to a show before 7, you'd actually pay more for this than just buying them normally. On the other hand, if you pick the more expensive burgers and go to an evening show, you'd save €2.50
Hardly worth writing home about, but I suppose if you were already planning to have eddies then go to the cinema some evening it'd make sense...

But then it's only monday-thursday, which I can't figure out at all because neither of them prices differently for the weekend, and the concession is so minimal that there's no reason to not let it run on the busy days.
Yeah... I call stupid on this particular promotion (directed at the companies, not the OP)

Not much of a saving eddies has its own deals which cancel any saving on this.

    Depends what you order though.

The way I read it is that it's €20 per family for meals & movies.

And I'm not hungover and I think my brain is at 100%...

Does that say something about me or this BA I wonder?:o
