    Hi I bought a new gun last week which means I now have four, If I am unable to sell any of my existing 3 guns what are the security arrangements I would need to implement to be allowed to have four. I was over at the station today and the guard mentioned needing an alarm and said something about there was one you could get that would be just mounted on the gun cabinet itself? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks, pug! :confused:

    i'm getting a forth during the summer and i'll be getting this with an extra door sensor to mount inside the safe.
    Local FO said just need an alarm on the safe but i think you might as well put an alarm on the whole house while your at it.

    I put in a yale wire free alarm in my house to satisfy the local crime prevention officer when I got my fourth, did the trick ;)

    SI 307/2009.

    You would be in level 3 security, more than 3 unrestricted firearm or two restricted firearms.

    You need gun safes that comply BS7558, fixed to a solid structure an alarm on the place where the guns are stored, and locks on the external doors to the room that comply with BS3621.

    Usually an alarm on the room or the safe itself will suffice. As mentioned above there are plenty available from security companies, Argos, etc.

    Also, and just as a "warning", when you fill out the application (FCA1) and you tick the box that says you comply with the Secure Accomodations SI, you must actually have the security measures in place. Either that or sell a firearm or get it stored and remain in level 2 security. Just on the off chance you get a visit to check out your security.

    Just back in there now shot a vixen at 282 yards with the swift, having serious doubts about selling it now :D! Will look into getting the wire free alarm

    Clivej had one of the yale ones in the for sale section a while ago.
