Annoyingly, Sius doesn't appear to have all its startlists up. Nothing's listed past tomorrow. Best of luck to all competing in any case. Looking forward to hearing about it.

Peter Friend (1375) is on firing point 14 tomorrow (Sat) at 9am (8am Irish) in the air Pistol qualification. Best of luck to him!

Ray and Paul gone out for this? No startlists published for the rifle yet on Sius's website.

No, Ray and Paul were training in WTSC tonight, I don't think either had planned to go (Paul's still sorting out his uber-fancy new rifle).

Had an idea they weren't alright, but couldn't be sure. Roll on Munich and Belgrade for Ray though at least.

Yup, and his form's improving nicely. It'd be good to see him break the 590 there!

561 for Peter. After a slightly rough first half, he did very well to come back in the second half and put in a solid score. Definitely on the ascent.

Also worth nothing that France's Franck Dumoulin nearly set a new world record, before a rough last string (94) which left him on 589.

Peter is on a re-learning curve at the moment. Has changed his position slightly and approach to the shot as a result of coaching from Ray. Will take a while to reap the full benefits.

Interesting to hear. Judging by the second half of the match, he's certainly seeing some benefit already.

The fist half of the competition I did not do my mental game, my temp coach for the week Steven sat behind for the shoot, it took me 18 try's just to shoot the first ten shoots. I worked on my mental game the best as I could do for the first 30 shots and then had a talk to steve about what I was doing and was happy that from about shot 15 had started to work out what I needed to change.

After talking to steve I whent back with a posative attitude and let the shoot off quickly and not worrying about the outcome.

I am very happy with the my new system and know that a small step backwards will end up with a larger step forwards.

Peter Sidi won in the end, showing how scarily good he can be with his final string:

Wow, apparently Skolov was disqualified for having too-thick underclothing (he was in the lead at the time - the Russians were not happy). And Peter Sidi got a yellow card for stiff-legged walking in the boots (and the boots are now all being tested, and so far every make is fine bar the most recent sauer ones).
