    outside of rush hour: drive
during rush hour probably by bike.

145 to Heuston and Luas if by PT I'd say

Public Transport - 65 or 65b from Aungier Street (5 minute walk from St Stephen's Green).

Will definitely be the quickest route.

Most convenient during busy periods would be to walk across the liffey and grab an outbound Luas.

At quiet times, the 65 or 65B as above would be best. If the traffic is bad, busses can be very slow.

The 50 is the quickest to the Square skipping Tallaght Village.

65s will get stuck in Rathmines possibly forever. There's buses in Rathmines that set out from Eden Quay in 1974 which have just got to the Swan Centre :)

I have to ask the question where in Tallaght?

Quite often the 49/a is quite quick, but they aren't very frequent and they take some mad detours between Templeogue and the Square.

    Possibly not fair. :)

Actually the worst bit of the 65/b is Dame Street to Wexford Street, although Military Road to Rathgar can be bad in the evening rush hour compared to only the bottom of Rathgar Road to the Swan Centre being particularly bad in the morning. Then theres Terenure. :(

It depends where in Tallaght. If it's Tallaght Village or The Square, then the 65, 65b or 77 are the quickest from the city centre. If going to Old Bawn it's the 49 or 77a, if it's west Tallaght then the 77 is the fastest.

Personally, I would avoid Luas. I always find the bus to be quicker.
