    Hi,

Does anybody know if there are written records of evictions that took place in Ireland. Where are they kept?

I know that my g.g.g grandmother and her children were evicted from there house in Tipperary around the end of the 19th century. I'd love to think I can get my hands on some hard evidence about when and why they were evicted, etc, etc...

There wouldn't be any centralised records of this. If you know who owned the land your ancestors were evicted from, then you can check if the NA or the NLI to see if they have any records of that estate. Even then there might not be any records of an actual eviction. I found one randomly in some papers I was cataloguing and also found 2 separate notes pertaining to the evictees which showed they were having trouble paying their rent a long time before eviction.

Thanks, I could check it out this way. Hopefully they'll have something!
