Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    "Minding your Mental Health” talk with psychiatrist, Dr. Graham Connon
    Tuesday 6th December at 1pm in Blanchardstown Library. This talk will focus on strategies for promoting happiness and positive mental health.

    Science Experiments Workshop with The Rediscovery Centre
    Tuesday 6th December 3.30pm—5pm Ages 6—12 yrs. The workshop features a range of hands-on experiments to explore a variety of science topics such as the chemistry of bubbles and investigating acid-base reactions. This workshop is interactive and linked to the national primary curriculum through a range of subjects including SESE Science, Maths and Visual Arts.

    Work Matters, a business enterprise and employment support service in Blanchardstown Library offers resources and a physical space for people seeking employment or looking to start their own business. This service is also available in Balbriggan Library.

    Below is information on the talk Donal will be giving at Blanchardstown Library.

    Echoland, Joe Joyce’s gripping thriller set in Dublin during World War Two, is the choice for this year’s Dublin: One City, One Book initiative. To celebrate, Ulises Petite Explosion is hosting a talk by historian Donal Fallon in Blanchardstown and Malahide Library branches on life in Dublin during the Emergency.

    Donal Fallon is a historian and writer based in Dublin. He has been published in History Ireland, Jacobin, the Irish Independent, Totally Dublin and other diverse outlets. From 2014 to September 2016, he was the resident historian to Newstalk Breakfast. He has worked with Dublin City Council (on the ‘My Area in 1916’ project), the Little Museum of Dublin and published a number of books, including a study of the Nelson Pillar.

    Dublin: One City, One Book encourages everyone to read a book connected with the capital city during the month of April every year.

    Blanchardstown Library will be open for Culture Night on September 22nd, with a selection of exciting events.

    From 5.30pm onwards we will welcome our Summer Stars for the presentation for Summer Star Certs.
    Murph the Magician will be appearing around 6pm, and The Blanchardstown Brass Band and String and Things will provide musical entertainment from 7 - 9pm.
    There will also be a display of arts and crafts by the Irish Countrywomen's Association (Blanchardstown Guild) running throughout the evening.
