We're hoping to fly to Thailand with Etihad this summer... does anyone know how many months in advance you have to book to get the cheapest flights with them?

    Thanks

Depends on when you want to go. Summer is the wetter season out there so in theory the flights should be cheaper. My bro has flown with them a few times so if you are getting a return flight for less than €700 you are doing OK. That said the last few times he has gone through London as it has been over a year since Etihad from Dublin to Bangkok has been the cheapest option...

Went with Etihad to Thailand (Koh Samui) last Sept, booked the flights in Apr and paid €960. They were down to €700 the month before we went though!! Check their website as they sometime advertise cheap offers to bangkok / koh samui.

    Anyone fly with Etihad recently?

Have seen some threads from 2 years ago but looking for something more recent.

Paricularly interested in whether or not their aircraft all have individul AVOD/entertainment systems.

Flying from Dublin to Seoul via Abu Dhabi.

And what's the stopover like these days. Heard Abu Dhabi used to be awful to spend time in...

    Thanks.

Etihad do indeed have individual entertainment displays.

Flew there to Abu-dabi last year and found them to be superior to any other long haul carrier I've used.
    Food was actualy edible!

I'd certainly consider flying with them.

    With Etihad recently.

Food was OK, no better than other carriers in my opinion.

Entertainment was good, several recent films, I watched "The King's Speech"

    Thanks guys.

My main concern is having an individual screen. Food is never filling nor tasty on flights anyway so as long as it's edible, that's fine.

Flew to India with them last year, same again this year, no worries. Abu Dhabi was ok

Flew with them last month to India, I really like them (I flew with them to Australia too). Great selection of films. Abu Dhabi is grand but the best thing is that nearly all their connections mean you're only waiting 2 hours there which is a bonus.

I flew with Turkish Airways via Istanbul. Was the cheapest option. Best airplane food i've ever eaten.

Reporting back on this since I asked a question re Etihad some months back.

Brilliant experience. Food was great. And the selection of movies and other entertainment superb.

Flew with Lufthansa on same route last week and the food was poor and the entertainment was awful. Only one or 2 decent films and tv shows to watch.

To make things worse, they had the same selection of entertainment coming back as well. Most airlines vary it as they know that people will be flying back on the same route but it was the same stuff on offer.

Won't be flying Lufthansa again. Etihad were great.

Chirstmas/Winter is high season in Thailand so, comparatively, fares won't be cheap.

You might want to consider Turkish Airlines to Bangkok as well. Similar level of service to Etihad for similarly low prices.
