I recently purchased a new laptop and hope to get mobile broadband. I see O2 are offering 15 GB per month at around 20 euro. On average how many hours will that work out as.
I will be surfing the net to watch the odd sports game and downloading music.

It depends. Query and consider if it's 15GB Upload and Download together.
Then it's all down to how much data you transfer. Streaming video will obviously use most your data resource.

It "works" out as 512mb per day on a 30 day month.

Here are pretty close usage guidelines.....

    1. A 3 to 4 min video on youtube can use 10 to 20MB. You can switch the compression.

    2. I watched 50 min program on RTE Player the other night, it used 150MB. Very small, I was suprised.

    3. Casual browsing is very small, 2 hours on a mostly text site (like boards) is only like 20MB.

    4. A song is only 5MB or there abouts.

I've never watched sport online but unless it's HD I can't see it making much more of a dent than the RTE player....maybe someone can give you a close figure.

So unless your gonna take up downloading films your not gonna hit 15GB

    Three.ie have a 30GB allowance for €26.24, double for €6.24 more.
