Some men 'against' or reluctant to support men's rights?

    Hi guys,

Wasn't sure how to phrase the title of this thread but here it goes.

Do some think that certain men have a problem with other men seeking equal rights or sexual equality? For instance, men trying to support father's rights.

I bring it up because I have been involved in another thread here:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056193814

It's a discussion on Ivana Bacik that turned into a debate on sexual equality, female quotas in the Dáil etc.

In this thread and in others like it certain male posters get ridiculed and mocked for arguing for equality in certain areas and rejecting positive discrimination, sometimes by male posters.

For example, one poster who turns out to be male, said the following to reject the claims about equality and positive discrimination:
A man argues with dignity and intelligence. A boy uses stupid petty insults to make his arguments. Too many little piss pant boys in this country if you ask me.

I feel sometimes that certain males regard others that argue on points of sexual inequality, positive discrimination that they are whiners and they should be a 'man' and stop complaining etc.

It probably brings up the question of what some men define being a man, as being 'manly' etc.

Yep, it's a common belief that men should 'shut up and man up' when they are up against it. Stupidity is also quite common these days.
