Does anybody here think there will be many government departments merged when the new cabinet is announced? I think there is scope to reduce the amount of them but will FG/Labour want to do that? Does anybody here think there will be many government departments merged when the new cabinet is announced? I think there is scope to reduce the amount of them but will FG/Labour want to do that?

For instance will Environment be merged with Energy, Communications and Natural Resources or perhaps Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs will be gotten rid of and aborbed into other departments?

With the whole Croke Park agreement still in place surely it would make sense to streamline the departments?
