Down from €44.99, the case doesn't fit properly to ipod touch 4g but the remote control attachment works ok. More info and pictures here on HMV website.

Exspect cases were also good value, €3.99 I think various different types.

does the attachment need case ? or is it part of it ?

It doesn't need the case to operate, it comes in three parts so you can use it any combination you like but only the remote part works for 4g as I said.

thanks. this is perfect timing as my controller just broke and all i needed it to do was to switch to av - the one function not accessible through the buttons.

If you remove the 3.5mm jack bit, it might :) Don't think that part is necessary for the remote to work and it is cheap enough to experiment :p

So it's basically an IR transmitter?

Yes, you plug it in and download a free app. The other parts are just plastic and turn it into a case. I think HMV have iphone versions also but they were a bit more expensive as far as I can remember. Here is some more info on Power A website.

I just bought one today, €6 in HMV on Henry St.

I think it will only work it the iTouch. I'm guess the head jack is probably what is used for reading in and sending out the IR signal and the connect is to power it but I can't confirm this.

If you have an iTouch defo worth a go for that money!

I'm pretty sure that the headphone jack has nothing to do with the remote function, they must have added that part so that the headphones can be used while this thing is on. It just diverts the audio to the side of the attachment and also iphone version doesn't have it (Image 2 on the Power A link above).

And yes this is only available in store, just put the hmv link for info/pictures.
