HTPC Saorview/DVB Question - No signal with a 5Db antenna

    Hi Folks,
I received my blackgold bgt3595 6 in 1 card earlier today, it's some piece of kit, I have spent the day setting it up, combo of dual sat, UPC analogue and 'hopefully' DVB if I can pick it.

This is where my question comes into it, I bought a small 5 Db antenna from Ebay during the week hoping it would work to pick up the 4 FTA digital channels, if I buy a more expensive 80+ Db aerial is that likely to pick up the FTA channels?

I'm living in Castleknock, I've heard that a new broadcast mast in Blanchardstown was erected recently, I don't want to spend 50 Euro and go to the trouble of putting it up unless I have some chance of picking up the FTA channels, can anyone with a bit of experience with this sort of set-up give me an idea of what chance I might have if I go to maplin tomorrow and pick up a larger aerial?

I understand there are no ways of guaranteeing reception I'm just hoping someone in the area may have tried something similar.

    Thanks for all your help,
