This past few years I have tried to grow Big Red Poppies from seed pods which my mammy saved for me from her Big Red Poppy, but I've had no luck in getting them to germinate. I've tried them in the greenhouse in springtime and outside in summertime, but alas to no avail. Has anyone any suggestions as to how I could succeed?

If your mother has those poppies it is almost certain that there will be seedlings around her garden. Otherwise take a fully dry pod of seeds in late summer and scatter them in a corner of your garden, you should have plants the following spring.
