Anyone have any experience of these? Herself likes them, are they comfortable to drive etc. Being a toyota I'm taking reliability as a given once its been looked after.

Parkers quotes 38mpg which I find difficult to believe. I would only be used for small mileage so once it got over 30mpg that would be fine. I know that they're 2wd but its not like its going to be going offroad or anything.

33mpg is doable, no real issues.
Some1.8 engines can burn oil, no real way to know how much before buying.
Mechanically they're an old Avensis, so no worries.
Make sure the parcel shelf is included as they're megabucks to buy.

Had the loan of one of these for a month last year during the cold snap and I was fairly unimpressed TBH. Nothing worse than seeing one of these faux SUVs with their two front wheels spinning helplessly in the snow or ice. You just look like a plonker who wouldn't buy a proper 4wd.Interior space was quite tight and the boot was tiny. The aforementioned parcel shelf was the flimsiest yoke I ever came across. If it was me I'd buy an old Avensis. It will be cheaper to buy and to run. It will be nicer to drive and will have more boot and passenger space.

Thanks for that. Its not for me though - herself just likes the look of them and wouldn't go for an Avensis.

Local driving only so performance in snow/ice etc is not as important as decent mpg, low tax (4wd requires 2l engine iirc) and ease of maintenence.

I hear you on the interior space however, the car would have to accomodate 4 adults on occasion.
