What would be a better buy?
    A new high spec Ford S max/Galaxy,VW Sharan or a used 7seat BMW x5,Volvo xc90,LR Discovery.
I imagine running costs would be higher on the used option but would the bulk of depreciation not have already happened?
Would the jeeps not be a nicer drive?
    What do peope think?

Running costs will be a lot higher on an SUV, exponentially so on a Discovery. All other things being equal, i'd prefer an S Max to an SUV anyway. Why not a used S Max?

We already have an Smax 2.0 titanium auto bought new in 08 for about 46k.
Looking back I think this may have been better spent on a more expensive when new second hand "premium" jeep.
The S max is a brilliant drivers car and all rounder but doesn't have the feel of a car in this price bracket.
