I have an old Triton T90i that is just giving out cold water the shower is quite old so i'd say it's easier to buy a replacement than get parts.
Its an 8.5 electric pumped shower so figured I just had to get the same type I had a voucher for Argos and bought a Mira 8.5 "Go" brand now I'm ringing round for quotes and some places are saying that the Mira "Go" is not compatible with the Triton T90i :( I thought I have got like for like and all I had to do was get someone to install it maybe its the Mira Elite I should have got Argos don't do Triton's I guess I will give back the Go but just want to make sure next time round what one I should get before a plumber starts to come round to install

The Mira "GO" needs 0.7 bar water pressure, depending on the location you could possibly use it, it needs 7m head, thats height of water above shower :confused:

If you do decide to use it you will also have some making good to be done as the pipework and electric supply are not in the same location as the T90i, probably a cheaper option to get yourself the T90xr direct replacement.

Maybe yeah the Mira Go has a way smaller compartment than the Triton unfortunately Argos dont do Triton's so thats what I thought would be ok I might take it back and upgrade Triton as havent a clue on showers

Damn dont drive ah well going to give back the Mira Go its main fed and our Triton comes from the tank upstairs so dont think they are compatable. Will have a ring around for a cheap Triton as budget is tight and get someone to install it for us. Why arent showers simple :)

no they aren't compatible but if you have half decent mains pressure then its just a matter of a tiny alteration to pipe work normally in the loft to get it working for a mira go. I expect you have a tank fed shower because mains pressure in the south seems to be crap from what people say here! (im in the north).

the mira elite st would be similar to the trition you have, its pumped from the tank.

if you were desperate for the one in argos in the north and know which one you need I would post it down if you wanted (have done for billy bunting in the past). it actually probably works out cheaper even with p&p theres sooo many people coming up north even for shopping! could quote the p&p before hand

thanks for all the help I thought I had done as much research as I needed ie the brand, type of shower and wattage didnt even know weather it was meant for a mains or tank fed one. It said it on side of the box when we got it but not on the Argos catalogue when we picked it beforehand I presumed there was just the 3 types to pick electric, mixer and power and I pick one of the 3, learn something new every day. Will probably go for the Triton T90xr better the devil you know :)

Miss choc you bought the wrong shower. The price differece alone should have alerted you to something being up

a t90 is about 250 +/- where as the argos should are 100+ usually.

You have a pumped electric shower either a T90, Mira elite 2 or Red ring pumped electric will do.

I would get the same shower as the foot print is more likely to be the same meaning its a straight swop.

If you start going down the road of mains showers then you might end up with pressure problems meaning you will have to change your shower again.

Traditionnally outside dublin and cork mains fed showers are not successful, Tritons stats not mine.

Thanks for that bought it with the hubby but he is not DIY inclined  will stick with the Triton a guy on the phone said to me it happens a lot, people buy the cheap shower themselves and when he comes to fit it its the wrong type
