What do you look for in a driving range?
Personally a good quality pitching green is essential, also a well kept grass area to hit iron shots off is a must, I hate when youre forced to hit from the bays because the grassy area isnt looked after properly.

    An empty bay.

I think that a mirror behind you is very beneficial.

Even if it can only be done on a selection of bays at a range - it's a big plus for those that want to look at their swing in some detail.

i usually look for a nice little fade :)

the mirror is an interesting one, dont think ive seen it before. of course one stray ball could make a mess of it

Its nice when there are greens for you to aim at, or some lad driving around in a ball collector.

It'd take an extraordinary sequence of events for a mirror that is placed on the back wall to be broken by a golf ball.

Personally, I believe you can't have too many targets inside 120-yards - I mean right up to 10/15yds from the bays. Also, if possible - along with the mirror, a simple small shelf to place a camera on if you'd like to video your swing. If not on the back wall then maybe on the side partition.

Range balls that are in half decent condition. They don't have to be prov's. Just not worn smooth for 20 years without being replaced.

+1, nothing worse than smooth range balls.
They do nothing but be a detriment to your practise.

Don't knock the smooth range balls.
They allow you to hit the holy grail of trajectories - the fade draw and the draw fade. :D

Good lights at night time. Range in Wexford town is ok but the lights are terrible. If you hit say 4 iron to Driver you can't see the end result.

I look for pretty girls who put the ball on the tee for me and who clap and cheer for every shot I hit.

I totally agree! If I knew how to +1 I would! It is annoying sometimes not being able to see what your swing is looking like.
